Grain markets higher on CBOT

CHICAGO, May 15 (UPI) — Grain futures closed higher Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.
Corn was up 5 to up 14 1/4, soybeans were up 21 to up 26, wheat was up 6 3/4 to up 10 1/4 and oats were up 1 3/4 to up 3 3/4.
Wheat saw the biggest gains in weeks on speculation warm, dry weather may cut into crop yields in Kansas. Corn was higher on the stronger dollar and the soybean market saw some corrective short-covering on ideas recent losses were overdone.
The prices:
Corn: Jly 5.97 1/4 up 14 1/4, Sep 5.23 up 8 1/2, Dec 5.14 1/2 up 9, Mar 5.26 1/2 up 9 1/2.
Soybeans: Jly 14.13 up 26, Aug 13.93 3/4, Sep 13.40 up 13 1/4, Nov 13.05 up 10 1/4.
Wheat: Jly 6.08 1/2 up 10 1/4, Sep 6.22 1/4 up 9 1/2, Dec 6.43 3/4 up 8 1/2, Mar 6.64 up 6 3/6.
Oats: Jly 3.30 1/4 up 1 3/4, Sep 3.35 1/4 up 2 1/4, Dec 3.41 1/4 up 3 3/4, Mar 3.45 up 3 1/4.
