NFTE was selected as the official Non-Profit for July 10th Mets vs. Red Sox game.

On July 10, 2026, thousands of baseball fans attending the New York Mets versus Boston Red Sox game at Citi Field will see more than a matchup between two historic franchises. They will also see an organization that has spent nearly four decades transforming the lives of young people through entrepreneurship.

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) has been selected as the official Non-Profit of the Game, an honor that recognizes the organization’s extraordinary commitment to empowering the next generation of innovators, business leaders, and changemakers.

NFTE’s backstory

Founded in 1987 by entrepreneur and educator Steve Mariotti, NFTE was created on a simple but powerful belief: entrepreneurship can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. What began as a program serving students in underserved communities has evolved into a global movement that equips young people with the entrepreneurial mindset, business skills, and confidence needed to succeed in an ever-changing economy.

Today, NFTE’s impact spans continents. The organization has educated nearly two million students worldwide and continues to expand access to entrepreneurship education through schools, community organizations, and innovative learning experiences. Its mission is not simply to teach students how to start businesses but to help them develop the creativity, resilience, critical thinking, and opportunity recognition that are essential for success in both business and life.

NFTE’s results demonstrate the power of that approach. According to the organization, 86 percent of its alumni are employed or actively pursuing further education, 80 percent have earned or are earning a college degree or professional certification, and one in four alumni has launched at least one business. Many alumni report that the entrepreneurial mindset they developed through NFTE continues to influence their careers, leadership, and personal growth long after completing the program.

The organization has also produced inspiring success stories. Former students have gone on to become business founders, corporate leaders, authors, educators, and community advocates. Their achievements reflect NFTE’s belief that entrepreneurship is not solely about creating companies—it is about empowering individuals to recognize opportunities, solve problems, and create value wherever they are.

At a time when workforce development, innovation, and economic mobility are national priorities, NFTE’s work has never been more relevant. The organization serves students from communities that have historically had limited access to entrepreneurial education, helping them build skills that employers increasingly value, including creativity, adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving.

Being named the Non-Profit of the Game for the Mets–Red Sox matchup is an acknowledgment of the profound impact entrepreneurship education can have on individuals, families, and communities. Proceeds from the event will support NFTE’s mission of launching the next generation of entrepreneurs and ensuring that young people have the tools they need to own their futures.

As fans gather at Citi Field on July 10, they will celebrate America’s pastime. They will also celebrate an organization that has spent nearly forty years helping young people discover what is possible when opportunity meets education, mentorship, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
