Please share with us a current typical day or week in your everyday personal life.
I try to live my life a little different from most. For me, itās all about doing what works, paying it forward and taking time to enjoy the small things we take for granted in life. I try to be as health conscious as possible by eating a plant based diet and walking several miles daily. I am not perfect. I always say I am a student of life, and a master of nothing. I am consistently trying to better myself and the way I show up for my family.
Please share with us a current typical day or week in your everyday professional life.
I work from home. I used to own an office for many years, but decided that it was time for a change. My everyday focus consists of coaching for professional and personal development, Iām a trainer and speaker for multiple large corporations throughout the US and other countries worldwide. Iāve been n the personal development industry for over 22 years. Most days I am offering my 1-on-1 coaching via phone or Zoom. Other days, I am at corporations and events keynote speaking or training.
Tell us why you do, what you do, for a living.
My work is a direct extension of who I am and what I believe. Itās so much more than just work, itās my passion. I find purpose in serving
others. Itās an integral part of who I am since I was a small child. I believe we are all here collectively to help one another. When others grow, we grow too. Thatās my motto.

My childhood is the most specific source I can relate to. Ever since I was 9 years old, I wanted to work in an industry I would be able to help others. At the age of 12 I was already telling my family I was going to do hypnosis when I grew up. I was a weird kid. I didnāt see the world quite the same as other kids did. I think a lot of the books I was reading early on influenced me that way. I was really big into reading about mysticism, hypnosis, spirituality and healing.
Share how you balance the work-life challengesā¦what have been the rewards.
Iām an avid traveler. I enjoy discovering new cultures. Travel has always been my biggest reward. I have traveled extensively throughout my life to different parts of the world. It has allowed me to expand my thinking and confirm we are all the same and thereās beauty in our
differences.
What advice would you have for other Latinos in the business sector trying to make it day after day?
Iād say, take it one day at time. Thereās nothing more valuable than the present moment. In fact, there is no other time but the present. We can learn from our past and we can begin to shape our futures in life and in business, when we look at where we are now. We are all creators of some sort. We can all design strategically right from where we are presently. Everything we put in now, leads to the results of tomorrow.
8. Do you think you have ever truly āmade itā in life? I think life is a process of becoming, like Anais Nin said. I think we are all here trying to make it. Having said that, I believe we go through different stages in life and we move up and down to different levels. Everyone in pursuit of making it somewhere, somehow. Perhaps, Iāve āmade itā in other ways, but Iām still learning.
Whatās your cultural background; where did you grow up?
I grew up in South Beach fromĀ the age of 4 years old – 14 years old. Later my family and I moved to Miami where Iāve remained ever since.

My line of work has evolved over the last 22 years of my career. At the age of 23, I started my own business as a clinical hypnotist. I had my practice up until 4 years ago. During which time, I began to see a need in Corporate America. I wanted to disrupt cultures and help leaders and teams learn to communicate better, lead using emotional intelligence for more efficiency and productivity. Speaking and training has always been part of my work, I just decided to take it up a notch and offer it more extensively.
Did your ethnicity create any obstacles for you? Any advantages? How so?
Living in Miami makes it very easy to blend with other cultures. I have friends and business colleagues from all over the world. I enjoy the diversity.
What inspires you in your work life? What turns you off?
Iām inspired by the transformation I witness from the people I serve. Itās always been what drives me. I enjoy being a part of those A-ha moments and breakthroughs. On the other hand, what turns me off are peopleās lack of authenticity. I see a lot of people in my field who donāt take the time to really deliver exceptional work. Perhaps, they are more driven by less altruistic reasons than I am. Iām not saying everyone is inauthentic, Iām saying its important to work hard to deliver the best when you are in the field of service.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Iād say, āSheena, you donāt control anythingā¦.learn that now.ā
If you could have dinner with any Latinx personāliving or dead–who would it be? Why?
Iād probably say, Frida Kahlo. Although I didnāt always agree with some of her political affiliations, I have always admired her resilience and tenacity to move beyond her obstacles. She expressed herself through her art and I admire her determination to speak her truth even if others did not always agree with her.
