Holiday Styles- Fashion Options for Business and Leisure

.
4. Think YOU
What feels and looks good on YOUR body? Which features do you want to enhance and which do you want to downplay? Do not succumb to seasonal ‘fashion’ mandates! Better a color and style that fits you, than fitting into a color and style that are un-fitting for you.
5. Think details
Your whole look should be polished and curated – including hair, face and nails. Style is in the details!
Once you have these down, you are ready for a success strategy and suggestions.

Style suggestions
Slit:
If you like your legs, a “no frills” long slit dress is always a great foundation for your holiday look. Wear some heels to complete the party presence, but avoid high needle heels so you can be comfortable and enjoy the party. If the dress is black, you can pair it with red shoes and a gold-ish scarf for a dash of ‘required colors’. Or just skip required colors.
Shoes:
Go for shoes that are unusual and special, be it in color or design. Wear them with a black dress or a solid matte color dress. To complete your look, add a prominent lipstick color, a memorable bag, and a statement necklace or bracelet.
Neckline/décolleté:
Choose a neckline style that is a good fit for your body type to make it the focus of your look and bring attention to the upper part of your body. If you have large breasts, wear a square neckline and choker (always chic). If you have wide shoulders, a V-neck dress with short to three-quarter sleeves in a dark color narrows and elongates your figure. If you want to go full party, halter dresses are a great holiday choice to highlight your shoulders, and add a dash (well, more than a dash) of sexy (but remember, don’t overdo it!).
Sequins:
Sparkles are definitely festive, and there is no better occasion for them than end of the year holidays. Sequins look best when pieces have simple lines, and an uncomplicated, structured silhouette. If you wear a full-blown sequin dress, your shoes and accessories should be matte. (You don’t want to blind people around you … or do you?)
Wear a sequin like a skirt or top with a simpler clothing piece to create visual contrast and balance in your look.
For uber-elegance, lean towards solid colors in your sequins, or shades of the same color—neutrals are especially fab.
(You can replace sequins for lurex).
Keep in mind: one sequin piece will bring attention to the part of your body you want to enhance, and make you look fabulous – two pieces will not have that effect!
That festive item:
I do not know which one it is, but we all have a clothing item that we save for special occasions. Be it a velvet dress, a jumpsuit, or a silk tunic acquired on a trip, this is the time to go for it! Feel fabulously special and especially fabulous!
Always remember, style is not cookie-cutter. It is personal: it has to do with who and how you are, and the type of event you are attending. Choose and tailor accordingly. Find your good fit style! And if in doubt, you know where to find me.
Look Good. Feel Good. Warmly, Mara Kolesas
