Windows 8 will get a makeover 

Windows 8 will get a makeover with the release of Windows 8.1 on October 17^th.  Some of the jarring changes are being reversed.  A Start button will be restored and the Start screen will be more configurable and flexible to use.  There are many other changes to encourage adoption.  With the sunset of Windows XP only a few months away, the deployment of Windows 8.1 should accelerate.

I recently bought a new car to replace a car I had driven since 2007.  It had 137,000 miles on it.  The new car is loaded with useful technology.  I didn’t realize how far comfort and convenience had advanced in new cars in only a few years.  The same is true with PCs.  It is time for a changing of the guard!

Plan to replace your oldest XP PCs with Windows 8.1 PCs before April 8^th, 2014.  You won’t regret you did!
