5 2012 Cars for Hispanic Entrepreneurs

BMW Z4

The German-made BMW has long been a staple of the successful individual, and the BMW Z4 has become a flagship car for the automaker. Winning design of the year from Automobile Magazine, this retractable hardtop roadster is available in automatic or manual and in about a half dozen variations on the engine from 2.0 L to 3.0 L, all made to the same standards of performance and excellence.

With a BMW, you are generally looking at a steeper pricetag than with a vehicle made in America or Japan, but you know exactly where that money goes when you get behind the wheel. Going from zero to 60 in less than five seconds and boasting a power-to-weight ratio of 9.9 lb/bhp with 333 brake horsepower, the car handles like a dream, which is, in part, why you see so many Hispanic business and community leaders driving these cars. Their classification as a status symbol doesn’t hurt, either.

Camaro

The latest Chevy Camaro is available in a coupe, convertible or pricier ZL1 luxury model, which is advertised as being “barely street legal.” Several special edition models are also available. This car is definitely being marketed at a young professional demographic with such special editions as a Transformers model Camaro. The question is whether it holds up for a serious professional or if it’s all flash.

Luckily, there’s some real power under the hood. The fuel-efficient engine gets 30 MPG on the highway, the engine comes in at 323 horsepower and the dual-overhead cam design adds some real strength to the car. The Camaro is certainly an image-conscious car, but it’s a real performer under all that flash, too.
