Colombian American Latina Role Model Gives Back Nursing and Mentorship

Meet Jacqueline Lopez-Devine, Hispanic Woman of Distinction,  Chief Clinical/Nursing Officer Trustbridge

As the Chief Clinical Officer of Trustbridge that serves an average of 1,800 patients per day, across two counties, in private homes and facilities, Jacqueline recognized  early on that COVID-19 required activation of an Incident Command Team to address this pandemic.

As one of the first nurses to care for COVID patients in a home setting, she demonstrated to the clinical team that she would not ask them to do anything that she would not do first. Jacqueline’s leadership and innovative programs led to safe patient visitation practices, while continuing to provide compassionate care to patients and families as well.

Jacqueline also mentors nurses and students, and she encourages them to continue career advancements, by teaching them about leadership and organization projects.  Building relationships, to Jacqueline, is the key to identifying and implementing best practices.

How Jacqueline finds time to perform community service with the scarce free time she has, is remarkable.  She is a Board member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, as well as The March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, ASPIRA, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Church, and Vantage Point Dance Studio, just to name a few!  She is also a member of the Public Policy Committee of the Florida Hospice and Palliative Care Association.

Jacqueline says that her Colombian parents were the greatest role models in her life, as they came to the United States in 1963 to seek better medical care for her mother’s chronic heart condition. Her mother demonstrated to Jacqueline the courage, passion for people, and fearless attitude one must possess to approach life with a positive mental attitude.

Born in Miami, Jacqueline earned her Master of Science Degree in Nursing and Health Policy in Baltimore, Maryland, and her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Barry University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Jacqueline has been married for 28 years to Gregory; they have two adult children, Joseph and Diana, attending college to become nurses.  Jacqueline and her husband Gregory live in Wellington, Florida.  She enjoys walking, reading, boating and spending time with family.
