Colombian Latina Helps Others Achieve the American Dream

Lina came from Colombia to the United States with her mother and brother in search of the “American Dream” but while Lina has found success in business but she never forgets those who need a hand to help achieve their version of the “American Dream.”
As such, she established the “Ari & Kari Scholarship Fund for Latinas Mothers of Multiples Returning to College” at Palm Beach State College where she received her AA degree.
After taking Prudential’s training program, she became their youngest registered agent in South Florida and one of their most successful reps selling Prudential’s extensive financial products & services. Lina’s the founder and managing partner director of El Bodegon Insurance & Financial Services LLC, one of four divisions of Lina Jankus & Associates Corp. with offices in Palm Beach County. She’s also a motivational speaker at area schools.
She actively helps the children and women of Colombia’s Wayuu Community sending food, medicine and arranging for clean drinking water in areas where child mortality is the highest in the country. Lina also “adopted” the “toddler class” of the Hispanic Human Resources Council serving the area’s impoverished Hispanics. Lina works with ASPIRA raising scholarship funds and creating leadership programs for Hispanic youths, Alzheimer’s Community Care program, Horses Healing Hearts for children of parents with addictions, Autism Speaks and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of the Palm Beaches.
She has been highlighted in the Spanish version of Readers Digest magazine, has been a top ten finalist in the ATHENA awards and was nominated for a Soroptimist International Women of Distinction Award as well as receiving recognition as a top sales producer from the insurance carriers she works with.
Lina and her Identical twin daughters, or she as she calls them, her “angels,” live in the horse country of Wellington, Florida.
