Columbian Fashion Designer, Claudia Gontovnik Trunk Show

statement pieces

Statement pieces that tell a story!!

Columbian born, Gontovnik has worn many hats throughout her career, from stylist, costume designer, editor of an on-line fashion magazine, and also designer of another label before her current signature line. After traveling down these various paths throughout her career, Gontovnik took a hard look at what she really wanted to achieve and had a true passion for….

Simply to die for!! I love the feminine floral details on these utility camo pants!! These might be on my shopping list at the trunk show!

She found that she still wanted to maintain and express her creative vision, but to do it in a more socially responsible way by reviving items that had already lived a very storied life. These days Gontovnik takes previously worn and lived in items and more than just upcycles them.  She turns them into bespoke one-of-a kind designs that are literally pieces of art! To say this to you is one thing, but for you to see her designs in person is a whole other thing. From the moment you see the beauty in the choices of garments, to the hand-crafted, detailed embroidery that can veer either to the side of femininity but then also have a very cool street wear, edgy vibe, you will just be emotionally drawn to her pieces.

When I saw this piece, it was love at first sight – seriously!!
Her designs have an emotional reaction that you can’t deny!

Gontovnik’s mission statement is “to inspire a sustainable way to be stylish, and each unique piece represents a statement for me and for the person who chooses to wear it.”

As a fan, believer, and wearer of her pieces, I know that every time I wear one of her designs, the following things will happen….

  1. I will feel like I’m wearing the most special garment that was ever made because it was done with the utmost care, detail and love.
  2. I will have supported the increasing need for sustainability in today’s ever growing fast fashion, throw away society.
  3. People will ask me questions about my look….where did I get it, where can they find it, etc….it’s a conversation starter.

I hope if you’re in the area, you’ll come out and join Claudia and I for a fun evening of shopping and mingling. I can promise you WON’T be disappointed!

We’ll see you next Thursday, October 18th in the city! Bring your inner fashionista to the party!!!
