D.C. A Popular Business Destination
Washington Hilton
Nation’s capitol boasts top of the line hotels that can host large and small groups

Washington Hilton

Home to many of the country’s most beloved national treasures, Washington, D.C., is certainly a favorite for meetings, groups and conventions. Each year I have the pleasure of attending several conventions that take center stage at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, which features meeting rooms and exhibit halls for events of all sizes, accommodating from 40 to 40,000 attendees.

Washington Hilton

One of my favorite hotels that can also host large groups and meetings is the Washington Hilton. The hotel is centrally located at 1919 Connecticut Ave., near Washington’s business district, and close to DuPont Circle and Adams Morgan. The hotel boasts more than 1,000 rooms and has been home to the presidential inauguration since 1969.

President's Walk

President’s Walk is located just off the Main Ballroom. Presidents’ photographs line the hallway where many presidents have walked to make their acceptance speeches before entering the Grand Ballroom.

Having had dinner in the Grand Ballroom on several occasions, I can say it makes you feel quite special knowing you are sitting in a room where so many presidents have accepted their nominations.

The Dupont Hotel

Another favorite for smaller meetings is the Dupont Hotel. Part of the Doyle Collection, the hotel is located in the heart of Dupont Circle and is accessible to the park, escape by the underground train or visit many restaurants and shops in the area after a long day of meetings. The hotel consists of 327 rooms and suites and can accommodate groups and conferences for up to 350 attendees.

Marriott Renaissance Washington DC Dupont Circle Hotel

Directly across the street from the Convention Center you can find the Marriott Renaissance Washington DC Dupont Circle Hotel. It’s a bit of a walk to Dupont Circle (take a cab), however the hotel is perfect for meetings or if attending a trade show/event at Walter E. Washington Convention Center. This hotel also works perfectly for mid-sized meetings with 355 rooms and suites, 15 meeting rooms, and 13,990 square feet of total meeting space.

Capitol Hilton Hotel

Also for larger meetings, check out the Capitol Hilton Hotel, which is located just two blocks from the White House and three different Metro stations. The hotel is close to attractions such as National Mall and the Washington Monument and Memorials. It features more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space and boasts 544 rooms and suites, perfect for those larger groups when more than 250 to 300 rooms are needed.
