Day 6 in the Life of a Blogger: Take Me Down to the Paradise City….

by Tina Trevino

…where the grass is green and the girls are pretty. Oh won’t you pleeeaaaseeee take me home yeah yeah! Take me down to the….ooh you are back my faithful little fashionistas! Just in time to catch me rockin’ to some G&R to celebrate the fact that I can cross Thursday off this week’s calendar! Whoop Whoop!!! I actually got just a little bit side tracked because today was all about another of our Spring 2015 trends called “Paradise City”. Just a warning that the trend is slightly different than G&R’s version–sorry kids no sex, drugs, rock & roll, and stripper poles. This is the PG-13 rated version (we can work on getting the R rated version back someday ’80s rockers). The current fashion version is quite a juxtaposition from that–it is about super fem looks.

Paradise City: A little something for your sweet tooth

Palette: Sweet Tarts. Candy Crush Inspired
Key Call Outs: Illusion, Transparency, Ethereal, Crystalline, Sheer, Glassine, Lace, Jewels, Spring Brocades, Watercolor Florals, Soft Fem Tropicals

With that being said…let’s start the fashion show:
Morning Commuter Ready in my Topshop retro 2 piece set with Tory Burch flats and a Chanel inspired cut denim jacket..
Love these flats. And got them at Ella Blu Resale, a great designer consignment shop in Calistoga (Napa Valley) last fall for a steal. If anyone knows–it’s me–how hard it is to make the decision to take any precious time away from all that wine tasting, but believe me, for the small amount of time it will take you to pop into a few of the consignment stores on the main drag, Lincoln St. and score yourself a deal like this–it is well worth it!

And now we’re dressed up with some strappy little BCBG Generation sandals

Shoe Theory 101: I know that some of you may be looking at this shoe today and thinking…hmm…”this looks suspiciously like the shoe she had on yesterday”. No so my friends. Go back to yesterday’s blog and you’ll see that even though they are both little cage stilettos, yesterday’s was a very boho look and today’s is a Jetson’s future/retro version with slick hologram straps. And that is why the answer to “does a woman really need more than a 100 pairs of shoes”–is always yes!! Class dismissed.

This very cool crystalline fabric over a retro silver and bronze lurex brocade fabric creates a softened hazy illusion

And here’s last night try out of the bag to match up to the very shiny 2 piece outfit.
A beauty of a purchase from my inexpensive go to store, Primark in London.
Very on trend with fancy cut-outs on the side gussets. Uber-fem!

The best fem accessories. A vintage 3-D daisy bracelet from a flea market and cute mix media daisy bracelet (a gift from a friend)

Sheer Inspiration:

Layers over layers of crystalline fabrics and geo laces

Candy Colored Knit Swatches

Sheer Fabrics and Irredescent Finishes on Active Sporty Bodies
(I love these so much!!!)

And finally, the end of the day at the T-Bar (otherwise known as my office/bar). I keep a fully stocked bar that is usually ready to open for business at 5PM and sometimes earlier depending on the circumstances of the day. We have been know to open the doors at 3 sometimes!
With me are Sue, our V.P. of Brands and Licenses and Lauren, our lead cut & sew designer. Cheers ladies on wrapping up Thursday!

Today was a crazy whirlwind day of many meetings. In addition, we had one of our “top secret” meetings this afternoon which went exceptionally well–thanks Sue and Jennie. And tomorrow we have a very very exciting meeting that we have been prepping for day and night to be ready for. I think we are all set and let’s just hope it goes smoothly!

Whew….I just need to get through the next 24 hours!!

What an incredible evening view of the city tonight. I can’t believe how it just seems to be a coincidental feel to this whole blog about “Paradise City”. By evening it just looks ethereal….

Good night bright lights. Tomorrow is a wrap up…..
