Fresh Air Inside and Out
Denver’s mile-high air combines with the Westin Tabor Center’s “Breathe Westin” policy to clear both your lungs and your mind.
In the heart of Denver, Colo., lies a four-diamond gem called the Westin Tabor Center hotel. Directly next to the 16th Street Mall and within walking distance of various other attractions, the hotel is literally surrounded by the city.
It’s easy to reinvigorate your mind, body, and soul at the Westin Tabor Center. Swim in the mile-high rooftop heated pool and enjoy breathtaking views of the Denver skyline, or try out the customized gym. With a variety of cardiovascular machines, free weights, and a half-basketball court, you can stick to your fitness routine (or start a new one) while away from home.
In spring of 2004, the hotel underwent an $8- million renovation of every room on every guest floor. Natural peaceful colors and textures create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. Among the largest guest rooms in Denver, the 400-squarefoot rooms feature Westin’s trademarked Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath. They are heavenly indeed.
The Westin Tabor Center also features the much-touted Breathe Westin policy – no smoking whatsoever anywhere at any time. Renovations cleared out any stale smoke odors, and when guests check in, they needn’t worry about getting a room that smells like stale smoke. According to Westin, 92 percent of their guests are quite happy with the policy. The Westin Tabor Center offers a comprehensive fitness experience in two fitness rooms. One offers a spinning cycle and the other a treadmill. Both rooms are furnished with Pilates workout equipment and DVD instructional equipment.
You can even bring Rover to the hotel, provided he is a small Rover (up to 30 pounds). There’s no additional charge except for a refundable deposit. So if you make sure Rover doesn’t “make” on the carpet, you don’t have to leave your best friend at home. Although you might be tempted to, do not sit around in your room. Put on your sport shoes and pick up a Runner’s World map from the concierge and take a three-mile or fivemile walk or run from the hotel.
There are a number of city attractions within a mile of the hotel. A short walk takes you to the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall; ESPN Sports Zone; Tabor Shops; Larimer Square; Denver Center for the Performing Arts; Colorado Convention Center; Colorado Community College at Denver; Metropolitan State College of Denver; Coors Field; Buell Theatre; Pepsi Center; University of Colorado at Denver – Auraria; Denver Pavilion; Six Flags Elitch Gardens Amusement Park; United States Mint; Denver Visitor and Convention Bureau; Colorado’s Ocean Journey (Aquarium); Mile High Stadium; and the Children’s Museum of Denver.
Fine dining is just steps from your room at the Westin Tabor Center. Enjoy a breakfast buffet at the Augusta restaurant, a steak dinner at The Palm, or a steaming Starbucks coffee while you meet with business associates or friends.
The Westin Tabor Center also means business in every sense of the word. A blend of contemporary beauty and classic detail defines the 24,000 square feet of flexible function space. The 7,500-square foot Continental Ballroom, with a dramatic 6,585-square foot foyer featuring two-story windows, provides a magnificent setting for up to 1,000 guests. In addition to versatile meeting rooms, the 200-seat Tabor Auditorium offers a sophisticated setting for conferences and special events.
