Grand Cayman is a Popular Travel Spot

For activities, choose the Spa and Fitness Centers, snorkel at the Reef Ball or just relax near the beachfront freshwater pool. There are also several choices of restaurants offering both international and American cuisines. The Grand Cayman Marriott is certainly another great option for groups with 13 meeting rooms and 6,000 square feet of total meeting space, including the Orchid Ballroom, which features maximum meeting space of 4,240 square feet and seats 650.

Other Items of Note

Since 1972 the Cayman Islands has its own currency, whose basic unit is the dollar, issued in notes with denominations of CI$100, 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1 and coins valued at 25 cents, 10, 5 and 1 cent. The CI dollar has a fixed exchange rate with the U.S. dollar. CI$1 equals US$1.25. Or, the U.S. dollar equals CI $.80.

Grand Cayman has pristine beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters, with more than 200 documented scuba diving sites. For those that prefer to be above water, wave runners, kayaks and paddleboats are available at most of the major hotels and resorts. Catamaran cruises and sunset sails were arranged for our group, along with parasailing, windsurfing and waterskiing.

Nature lovers can visit The Cayman Turtle Farm which is a very popular site to visit in the Boatswain Beach Water Park. Other choices include visiting the Butterfly Farm, hiking the historic Mastic Train or taking a guided kayak tour.

A visit to George Town is a must as many duty-free shops are available with amazing deals on a variety of luxury items such as watches, china and crystal. Don’t forget to check out the fine jewelry stores that have prices as much as 30 percent cheaper than other islands.

The array of restaurant choices is amazing and can satisfy any appetite ranging from local fare to international cuisine. With our large group, we arranged two nights of dine around, using more than six different restaurants per night, offering one night free to the participants, and having our major welcome and farewell receptions at the host hotel.

Fond Memories

From start to finish, our group of more than 300 had a great experience and many said they look forward to returning soon. Anyone going to Grand Cayman will take home many fond memories and look forward to planning a return as well. Of course, I am here to help you and answer any questions you may have and would certainly welcome an opportunity to be of assistance to you as well.
