HDS Foundation Selected by The Miami Foundation to Participate in Give Miami Day for the Second Consecutive Year
HDSF Give Miami Day

Double Your Donation to the HDS Foundation on Give Miami Day November 17, 2022!

Each year, The Miami Foundation hosts Give Miami Day to encourage locals to become philanthropists for a 24-hour period. Give Miami Day has become one of the largest annual giving events in the United States. Through online giving, this movement brings together nonprofits of all sizes to celebrate and increase generosity in Greater Miami. The HDS Foundation is honored to have been chosen to participate in this incredible day of giving for the second consecutive year because it demonstrates the vital role the Foundation serves in our community and motivates us all to donate in support of its mission.

HDS Companies founder CEO Cristina Miranda Gilson announced that as part of the ongoing effort to support programs that have a direct impact on the lives of high school students who are part of the South Florida Autism community, the company will once again do a generous dollar for dollar match of all donations made to the HDS Foundation (HDSF) through Give Miami Day, taking place on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

Cristina Miranda Gilson founded HDS Foundation in 2008, inspired by her experience raising her youngest daughter Kate, who was diagnosed at an early age with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The organization’s primary focus is to help teens and young adults with ASD and other unique abilities to succeed. HDSF offers programs and services that assist students in reaching their full potential and help them navigate the transition from high school to postsecondary life, careers, and employment.

In 2021, with the generous donations made by HDS Companies, its clients, employees, friends, the leadership team, the HDSF Board of Directors, and matching funds from HDS Companies, the Foundation was able to raise more than $40,000. These funds helped launch the 2022-2023 HDS B.R.I.D.G.E.S. Program at a local Miami Lakes area high school and the other existing high schools that the HDS Foundation supports. The HDS B.R.I.D.G.E.S. program focuses on developing social and independent living skills through a mix of in-school and community-based instruction.  Funds raised by this year’s Give Miami Day will help to further develop the Foundation’s current programs and facilitate future programs at other schools, helping more students on their path to more enriched and independent lives.

The Miami Foundation and its partners will also maximize the community’s generosity through Give Miami Day by making a bonus gift for every donation between $25 and $10,000 received. Early giving will run from Monday, November 14th to Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, with Give Miami Day kicking off at midnight on Thursday, November 17, 2022. We are working together to make Miami a thriving and stronger place for everyone.

HDS Companies has consistently stepped up to help its communities time and time again. It is not surprising that the company is passionate about giving back to its community, given that it was founded to provide diverse business solutions and professional technical services for the United States Affordable Housing and Community Development Marketplace.
