A Quick Guide to Africa’s Financial Hub
Home to a diversity of communities, South Africa is the hub for foreign business in Africa. Three of its largest cities–Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria–host a variety of conference centers and unique attractions.
Cape Town
Located between the Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain, Cape Town is best known for its extraordinary landscape. The Cape itself features many beautiful beaches, and Table Mountain and Lion’s Head are incredible hiking spots. City attractions include Two Oceans Aquarium and the District Six museum.
Cape Town has three large conference centers: Atlantic Beach Conference Centre, Cape Town International Convention Centre and Grand West Casino & Entertainment World.
Several medium and small centers, including Belmont Square Conference Centre, Atlantic Imbizo Conference & Function Studios , Carmichael Conference Centre , Simon’s Town Quayside Hotel Conference Centre , and the Pavilion Conference Centre provide additional conference facilities.
Johannesburg
Johannesburg is much more of a metropolitan center than picturesque Cape Town. It boasts the Apartheid Museum, the Johannesburg Zoo and SAB World of Beer.
Johannesburg is home to four major conference centers
Glenburn Lodge, Montecasino, Sandton Convention Centre and Eskom Convention Centre.
Pretoria has a few large convention centers: CSIR International Convention Centre, Leriba Lodge and Unisa Sunnyside Campus & Conference Centre as well as smaller sites (ABSA Conference Centre and Lesedi Cultural Village.Pretoria
Home to the executive branch of the South African government, Pretoria is South Africa’s historical hub. The city’s major historical spots are the Sammy Marks House and the Voortrekker Monument. Also of interest to travelers are Loftus Versfeld Stadium and the Cheetah Research & Breeding Centre.
