Cushnie Et Ochs
One of my newer favorite design duos on the scene is Cushnie Et Ochs shown here in the center photo with some of their beautifully feminine designs
I had the pleasure to see some of their handiwork up close and personal by one of their manufacturers. The quality to detail is amazing. And they truly love to bring out the femininity in each of their designs.
Gorgeous styling by Cushnie Et Ochs
What I love about their designs is that although you see similar cut-outs and slits in other collections, the way this team designs—there is a much more feminine approach—a little more drape in their designs and the beautiful use of soft pale shades of lemon, mango, and lavender sorbet contrasting against spring white and black leather looks amazing.
Zang Toi
Zang Toi’s spring collection
My favorite is the blocked white and sparkle silver hem mini dress with the longer length completer cardigan—so easy to wear and sophisticated
Zang Toi has fun accessorizing his crisp white looks with ultra wide brim hats that mimic the same round voluminous blouson sleeves on many of his styles. Crisp white dominates many of his looks
Zang Toi’s alter ego
After seeing so many of the collection’s clean pieces, Zang Toi takes a turn and introduces bright Kelly green which we also see consistently this spring and a beautiful combo of navy and turquoise. I love the skinny rib sweaters and the interesting crochet contrast work. Although some of his outfits come off a bit costume-like in feel, it is a runway show so we’ll let it slide. After all, you never know—you may have an occasion to wear a cape this spring/summer?
That’s a wrap on the first few days of New York’s shows. I hope you’re inspired through the fall and winter days to look forward to what we can expect to see in stores come early spring!
Stay tuned fashionistas, for more recaps on the rest of New York Fashion Week and my travel adventures this coming week.
