The International Salsa Museum Launches New Website

A message from Willy Rodriguez, Co-Founder/Executive Director
Hello Everyone,
I’m excited to share the newly redesigned International Salsa Museum website and invite you to explore what we’ve been building together.
Over the past five years, the ISM team, supporters and our collaborators have worked to bring this initiative to life. From advocating for music education and creating cultural programming to partnering with major organizations, independent businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists, our work has been guided by a shared purpose: preserve the past, educate the present, and influence the future.
Our updated website offers a glimpse of that collective effort and the people helping move it forward.
Salsa connects us through the music we love, the memories we carry, and the stories passed from one generation to the next. With a fresh design, new content, and more ways to explore, our website brings those connections to life.
Here are a few highlights waiting for you:
- Evolving virtual exhibitions: Discover the artists and stories behind the music, with new discoveries as our exhibitions grow.
-
Artist stories and interviews: Hear the voices shaping the culture through our collaboration with The Recording Academy, Sony Music, Meta and explore videos celebrating our artists and community.
-
Featured Photography by Allen Spatz: See salsa’s legends and memorable performances through his lens.
-
Featured Podcasts and music: Explore Featured Podcast Our Thing: The Birth of Salsa in Nueva York, Hosted by Rosie Perez/Produced by Futuro Media and enjoy ISM’s official Spotify playlist.
We’ve also strengthened site security, including secure HTTPS browsing, and added a new donation portal to make supporting our mission easier.
While we continue working toward a permanent museum home in New York City, this digital space allows us to share salsa’s history with the world and invite more people to become part of its future.
Please take a look, share the website with someone who loves this culture and music, and let me know what speaks to you. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us carry this legacy forward. ¡Que viva la salsa!
Warm Regards,
Willy Rodriguez
Co-Founder/Executive Director
