The National Museum of the American Latino Act Needs Your Support
Editor’s note: This is a message from the Friends of The National Latino Museum
On December 3, the Senate Rules Committee passed our legislation out of committee and onto the House floor. With bipartisan support and legislation passed in the House of Representatives, we are on the cusp of making the American Latino Museum a reality this year. Our leaders now have an opportunity to vote on the National Museum of the American Latino Act. We cannot lose our momentum—we have come too far and waited too long.
The National Museum of the American Latino Act has bipartisan support and would create a museum dedicated to honoring Latino history and culture – and it just moved to the Senate floor. We are closer than ever to a #LatinoMuseumNow, but we need your help.
With bipartisan support, the Senate needs to vote on the National Museum of the American Latino Act to honor over 500 years of Latino contributions to our nation.
Latino stories are the most underrepresented in the Smithsonian’s collections. A museum to honor the 500-year history and contributions of American Latinos is long overdue. Call 202-224-3121 & urge the Senate to vote on a #LatinoMuseumNow! bit.ly/fnmalaction
Despite shaping and growing every aspect of this great nation for over 500 years, Latinos are the most underrepresented in the Smithsonian’s collections. The Senate now must take action and VOTE! Learn more about our bill and how to get involved at americanlatinomuseum.org/our-legislation/.
