Welcome to the BIG 10!!
Well if summer has to be officially over, at least it’s college football season!!! I love everything about the change of seasons, fall foliage, pumpkin picking, and good old college football!!
I grew up in the heartland of Ohio where football is a way of life. My friday nights consisted of being a cheerleader for my amazing Ayersville Pilot football team. There was nothing more electric than the field being lit up at night, the chill of autumn weather and a crowd so fired up for football! My biggest moment as a high school cheerleader was accompanying our winning team to the GMC state playoffs against Newark Catholic in 1987 and getting to cheer in the Columbus, Ohio Horseshoe Stadium. What an amazing experience–the most surreal event I had experienced in my life at that point as a 17 year old! We heartbreakingly lost that game by 1 point! You can’t even imagine the feelings of pain that went through every player, cheerleader, and fan. When male teenagers are shedding tears for their loss, it’s a bad day!

Yep–that’s me center top |
So now that life has moved on and I realized that I can’t make a living being a cheerleader, I spend my Saturdays watching college football and my team of choice (being an Ohio girl and all) are the Ohio State Buckeyes–part of the BIG 10 conference. This happens to be an interesting year for the conference as we are welcoming in 2 new teams after much controversy–the Maryland Terrapins and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Today was fun as the biggest rivalry teams in the BIG 10 (Ohio State and Michigan) went up against these 2 new teams.
Ohio State traveled to College Point to welcome Maryland to BIG 10 action. It was the first BIG 10 home game for Maryland.
Hello Buckeyes!!! |
I have to say–I was extremely worried about my Buckeyes as they have had a tough season. They have Braxton Miller out of commission and are getting a young new team to gel together so every time they play–it’s nail biting for me to watch.
Well, my Buckeyes did me proud and went on to trounce those Terrapins today with a final score of 52-24. Sorry suckers and by the way….Welcome to the BIG 10!!!
And as I’m posting this blog, Michigan and Rutgers are still duking it out so we’ll see how this match up turns out!
I am excited to have these new teams added to the roster for all kinds of reasons. Personally it brings the BIG 10 a bit out east so I can make it to more games!!

Terrapin Half-Time Action |
Between all the Terrapin Red and Buckeye Scarlet–it was a sea of red in the stadium!! And when it comes to fashion, The Maryland Terrapins have Under Armour as a big supporter so they always have new concept uniforms and helmets–that’s a fun thing to watch. They may have to work a bit more on their football skills though!
“Hand Painted” helmets for the Terps today |
And as a die hard Buckeye fan as well as a shoe addict, you will not be surprised to see that there are supremely fashionable accessories to support your favorite team!!
I like these!! |
I really like these with their block “O” and cute little pom pom tassels! |
Flats are not my thing, but I have to report on all shoe options for all of my female Buckeye supporters! |
And well, these are just crazy with their Swarovski crystal detailed work and about a 5″ stiletto |
Great game boys!! O-H-….I-O!!!! |
I’m excited to see the rest of the season as the Buckeyes improve and to watch the new teams get inducted into BIG 10 action!!! It’s gonna be fun!
And if any of you are curious if I’ve chosen one of those awesome shoes to support my Buckeyes, come meet up with me for some tailgating in C-bus for the Michigan game on Saturday, November 29th for the big rivalry game!!
Go Bucks!!!
