Building CareCloud Small Business Insights

LBT: Any recommendations for small and medium business owners given the state of the economy? What are the potential benefits or challenges ahead?
Mr. Santalo: Focus on finding a true market problem and then build a business plan and model around solving it. In the case of CareCloud, the idea of trying to get doctors to automate their office processes has been around for decades. With that in mind, we have designed a new kind of platform that enables doctors to get online faster with less pain to their operations. We have built an extremely flexible business model around this technology. Because our products and services solve existing problems, we are growingwhether the economy itself is slowing or stagnant.

LBT: What is your relationship with IBM SmartCamp KickStart? How do you and CareCloud plan to participate?
Mr. Santalo: This is an exciting time to be a member of the start-up community, especially in South Florida. More and more start-ups are emerging here in all sectors.
We are thrilled that IBM announced it would hold its IBM KickStart Miami Competition in May 2012, teaming up with start-ups as they present their business models and network with leading venture capitalists, investors, angels and industry experts. CareCloud was honored to win the IBM SmartCamp Silicon Valley event in 2010, and we are excited to work with IBM on this years event as a competition judge.
The growing interest from large technology players like IBM, coupled with legislation like the recent JOBS Act signing, means more companies have greater access to capital. That ultimately means more jobs and opportunitiesin South Florida and beyond.
