A provider of Web-based software and services for the healthcare industry, CareCloud specializes in cloud-computing solutions for medical practice administration, electronic health records, revenue cycle management, and provider-patient communication. According to Mr. Santalo, the company has helped more than 1,200 physicians increase collections, streamline operations, and improve patient care in over 30 states. He previously founded and served as chairman of the healthcare software firm Avisena.
Mr. Santalo will be among the keynote speakers at the IBM SmartCamp Kickstart event at Florida International University in Miami, Florida on May 15th. The event in Miami is one of only two IBM SmartCamp Kickstart events in the U.S. this year, the other will take place in New York later in May IBM SmartCamp Kickstart Miami participating companies will receive coaching from a panel of investors, successful entrepreneurs, and industry specialists before giving a brief presentation to judges. The top one to two companies from the event will be fast tracked through the application process for the North American IBM SmartCamp finals in Boston. CareCloud was a winner of SmartCamp Silicon Valley, in 2010 and went on to compete in the Global Finals in Dublin Ireland that same year.
