Colombian Latina Nutritionist Small Business Owner Helps Women Be Their Healthy Best

When Ingrid Macher lost 50 lbs. in 90 days, she did more than lose weight. She gained a mission to help Latina women in the U.S. and Latin America to be their best self through a healthy lifestyle.

What started out as a simple series of Facebook posts with nutrition and exercise tips, has boomed into a multi-million dollar business via social media. 

Often described as the most influential Latina in healthy living and nutrition, Ingrid’s advice is followed by millions of subscribers on her Adelgaza20website, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube outlets. It wasn’t long before the media and corporations took notice of this Latina’s ever-growing audience and message. 

As a holistic and sports nutritionist with certifications from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the American Sports & Fitness Association, a personal trainer certified by the World Fitness Association and motivational speaker certified by the Association of Hispanic Speakers, Ingrid has been the subject of stories and has offered expert commentary for numerous TV and radio shows.

Ingrid MacherShe’s appeared as a guest for Fox International, Sirius XM, MSN, CNN en Español and Telemundo.

In print, Ingrid’s advice can be seen in Latin publications such as “El Nuevo Herald,” “Venue,” “Cromos” and “TV y Novelas” to name a few. Ingrid also is a best-selling author of five books in Spanish and English and is proud to be the only Latina to carry the “IM” brand of doctor-formulated products designed to improve women’s lives. 

Savvy marketing executives from companies such as the Mayo Clinic, Quaker, Walmart, Neutrogena, Checkout 51and Mamas Latinas have partnered with Ingrid to showcase their products to her large audience.

Graduating with honors, Ingrid studied social communication and advertising at the University of the Sacred Heart in Santurce, Puerto Rico.

Ingrid is a tireless supporter of humanitarian projects in her native Colombia, the United States, Puerto Rico and Central and South America’s poverty-stricken countries by collecting supplies and donating money from her writing projects.

She has worked with disaster relief efforts of the Jorge Posada Foundation, collected toys for needy children through Wiki Mujeres in Florida and Link by a Dream Foundation in Colombia, helped to build homes and schools through groups such as the Family Builders Foundation and helped dispense life-saving and desperately-needed vaccinations, clothing, supplies and food through organizations such as Salome Salva Una Vida, Seamos Razones para Creer and the Cathy Salguero Foundation and more.

When not traveling for business or charity, Ingrid, along with her husband of more than 13 years, Jeff Macher, the CEO and co-founder of Burn20™ LLC,and their two daughters, Paula and Mia, enjoy riding bikes, reading and dancing in their Aventura community.
