Kiki’s extensive resume of work left no questions about her being a well deserved guest of honor at the event. Her projects have been so diverse first starting as a morning radio host, then an entertainment reporter, to being the creator of a bilingual variety show—Kiki Desde Hollywood, and her highly successful TV show—Hot Tamales Live, a talent showcase featuring a diversity of performances by many ethnicities.
In the summer of 2014 her docu-comedy, “Journey of a Female Comic” premiered in theaters. The movie was a very entertaining and thought provoking look at the challenges of making it in Hollywood—not to mention the challenges of being female and Latino. It had humor that all Latinos can culturally relate to as well as the overarching concept of the “American Dream” that everyone can relate to. Kiki’s journey was a very real look at how difficult it can be to make your dreams come true, but also a very empowering look at how to take the bull by the horns, and just get out there and make things happen.
La Trayectoria de una Comediante
Currently, Kiki is starring in as well as Executive Producer for “Locos y Contentos”, an entertainment show built along the lines of SNL, Mad TV, and In Living Color that serves as a platform for all Latino comics to share their talent now airing on Estrella TV.
All of Kiki’s great successes hi-light how important it is to support our Latino talent and empower everyone to continue working to see their goals come through to fruition. She exemplifies the struggle that it takes to reach our dreams, but is here to boldly and loudly tell us the truth— it is not impossible. It just takes a lot of determination. She is an inspiration as a female and a Latino. She embraces her roots and her culture and has used them as a springboard for her career—and it has been successful.
