A unique location
Overlooking the foothills of the Alps, the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio, is one of the most beautiful locations on the northern Italian lake. It offers a unique mix of romance with its historic salons complimenting the past, and a complete range of the most up-to-date services.
History
The hotel, which dates from 1850, was originally intended as a holiday villa. Two wings were added in 1873 and the Grand Hotel became a holiday home for European aristocracy and royalty.
With 73 rooms and 22 luxurious and very spacious suites, featuring high frescoed ceilings and grand views of the lake or the private park, the hotel provides the ultimate in comfort.
Guests are treated to a full complement of services, and amenities, including a Spa, Fitness Center, La Goletta the casual dining restaurant, or for fine dining Mistral Ristorante which has received One Michelin Star for the past 8 years.
Location, location, location
The hotel faces the lake and rests within a private park. A swimming pool and private beach act as the divider between the outside world and the inside elegance of the hotel. For those who wish to take a leisurely visit to many other special towns on the Lake – such as Varenna or the Town of Como, there is a private boat that departs directly from the hotel or you can catch a public ferry within walking distance.
The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is the largest and only luxury hotel and resort in Bellagio and is suitable for groups, weddings and Board of Directors meetings.
There are also other wonderful hotels that can meet many of your needs. A variety of 2 and 3 Star properties in the town include the Hotel Bellagio, Hotel Belvedere, & Hotel Du Lac. In this tourist dominated location you can also find an array of villas and apartments available for your tourist dollars.
Travel Along the Brilliant Carved Coast
In just minutes by private boat, Comacina Island is a unique island once thought to be haunted. The boat ride and the destination are always exhilarating and the scenery enchanting.
Rich in history with gentle reminders of the past, the shores of Spurano are framed by fishermenÂ’s houses and a small Romanesque style church of S. Giacomo. Travelling along the shore by boat or through the streets by car this destination stands out.
Plan trip to Bellagio
While in town there is an excellent restaurant open for lunch and dinner, Locanda dellÂ’Isola Comacina. Definitely one of my favorite stops for lunch as it offers an array of fresh foodÂ…always well worth a visit when you are in Bellagio.
From Bellagio it is a short drive to Milan, Como, Bergamo, Varese and the Swiss border; a destination of choice with historic charm and all the modern amenities.
