It was with great pride that I watched as Erwin was recognized by numerous national and regional groups, including the Jackie Onassis Award for Public Service in Washington D.C. and Point of Light Award from then Governor Jeb Bush. Each time he accepted the accolades humbly and as an example for others to continue to be a voice for those who have none.

Keeping his legacy alive is my mission. I often think about the words he often quoted from Mother Theresa, “you should give until it hurts” Still there is poverty, homelessness, discrimination and racism. Our work will not be complete until these fade from society.

Erwin may be gone from this earth, but his memory and legacy of doing God’s work for all mankind lives on through the Light of the World Clinic and all those who were fortunate to have known him. www.lightoftheworldclinic.com.
