Mexico City’s Comeback Is Real
Culture
The highly frequented tourist attractions within Mexico City are concentrated in the historic center. The most popular of which include the Plaza de la Constitucion or Zocalo, the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor, the Palace of Fine Arts and Alameda Park. Walk Aa few blocks north of the Palace of Fine Arts, Plaza Garibaldi you’ll find one of the best places in Mexico City to enjoy authentic mariachi music.
Located in the center of the historical building district and near the main cathedral and National Palace the Mexican government established an archeological site for Mexican Ruins which are being methodically mapped and categorized by archeologists. Next stop on our cultural tour is the incredible Soumaya Museum. The Soumaya is also owned by Carlos Slim Helu and its collection of artifacts hale from Mexico and around world.
West of the historic center, the Plaza de la Republica is home to the newly refurbished Revolution Monument and National Museum. Chapultepec Park is the largest park in Mexico City. It is divided into three sections and is home to several of the city’s top tourist attractions, including Chapultepec Castle, the Modern Art Museum and the National Museum of Anthropology (a not-to-miss site filled with treasures from all over Mexico). The museum contains one of the world’s largest collections of archaeological and anthropological artifacts from prehispanic Mayan civilizations to the Spanish conquest.
Meetings and Conferences
If it wasn’t for my dear friend Ms. Frederique Naffrichoux, I would have never experienced some of these extraordinary sights. Frederique is one of the founders of iMeetings which is an online solution to request travel proposals for groups. It’s a quick and easy way to find group space availability in Mexico and Latin America sving both time and money. iMeetings will also make connections with hotels directly for any special needs your group may have.
What makes iMeetings unique is that it’s a new online option to request a proposal for groups and conventions specifically for Mexico and Latin America. It qualifies each group request using different formulas such as city, beach, national, international, room category, number of rooms, meetings space and more.
The platform is designed to handle a wide range of possibilities. Once all the criteria is entered it will identify and send the hotel(s) that meets those demands. Currently iMeetings offers 80 percent hotel market penetration in Mexico, with Latin America suppliers in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Panama.
A Direct Link
Today, Mexico City is not only the perfect place to hold your next company meeting but also serve as a unique destination to explore as a tourist or a romantic getaway. It’s typically a direct flight from Latin America and all of Mexico. Fights are available with most of the international carrier worldwide as well as Mexico’s own national airline, Aero México. Beginning April 3, 2014 Lufthansa will be ramping up its flight schedule to Mexico City- five times a week from Munich and a daily flight from Frankfurt.
Despite what you might have heard in the past about Mexico City, I can attest this city has become more vibrant and magical than ever. To learn more about Mexico City and all of Mexico, you can find a wealth of information through the Mexico Government Tourist Office.
