PGA Junior Golf Camps Opens Registration for 2021 at More Than 180 Locations Nationwide.

Camps are led exclusively by PGA Professionals for children of all ages and skill levels
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (March 11, 2021) – This summer, PGA Junior Golf Camps—the PGA of America’s signature golf camps for boys and girls ages 6 to 17—will introduce thousands to the sport, while also advancing the skills of seasoned young golfers at an expanded list of venues nationwide. The popular camp programs, led exclusively by PGA Professionals, will be offered at more than 180 courses across 36 states (as well as Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic).

Camp locations and dates are available now by visiting PGAJuniorGolfCamps.com.

PGA Junior Golf Camps Opens Registration for 2021Two types of camps are offered, with availability varying by location. The traditional camps are aimed at introducing kids and teens to a game they can enjoy for life, while Competitive Edge camps at select locations are designed to meet the instructional needs of more advanced junior players. The camps vary in format, with half-day and full-day programs available.

“PGA Junior Golf Camps are a great way for aspiring young golfers to grow and develop,” said PGA President Jim Richerson. “PGA Professionals provide fun and enjoyable experiences at our golf camps across America, where the quality of instruction is unparalleled. In addition, PGA Professional coaches are trained and equipped to provide a positive outlet for kids to learn and improve their game this summer, while utilizing Back2Golf protocols that promote health and wellness.”

Last year, PGA Professionals nationwide restructured camps to stay in compliance with local health regulations and follow Back2Golf protocols. As a result, PGA Junior Golf Camps proved more valuable than ever to young players and their families. Following that success, PGA Professionals in additional locations are planning to offer more camps this year than ever before.

The results from last summer make a tremendous case for parents to choose a PGA Junior Golf Camp for their child:

  • In 2020, 94 percent of parents rated the instruction at PGA Junior Golf Camps as “high” or “very high.”
  • Approximately half of all 2020 camp attendees were first-time players, more than any previous year.
  • 91 percent of 2020 campers said they would sign up again and recommend the experience to a friend.

At the traditional camps, attendees learn the fundamentals for full-swing, putting and chipping as well as golf’s Rules and etiquette. Instruction also focuses on life skills, such as integrity and good sportsmanship, which are important building blocks to developing character in kids.

Competitive Edge camps are strategy- and skills-intensive for golfers ages 12-17, who are serious about honing their games for tournament play and collegiate golf. Campers study all aspects of the game, with the aid of daily on-course PGA Professional instruction and the industry’s most advanced instruction technologies. These advanced camps also incorporate fitness and conditioning sessions, nutrition seminars and evening workshops, featuring notable experts from within the junior golf realm and beyond. Competitive Edge camps will be located at some of the finest facilities in the country, including Pronghorn Resort, ICE Golf Academy  Orange County National and Silverado Golf Resort.

“We’re thrilled to see this growth of the game fueled by PGA Professionals who are committed to creating healthy experiences for kids everywhere,” said Marc Haddad, founder and CEO of PGA Junior Golf Camps. “Whether parents simply want their children to get outside and have some fun, learn a game they can play as a family or take the next step towards playing at a competitive level, PGA Junior Golf Camps provide an opportunity to learn, while also making the game fun for youth of all skill levels.”

Dates for camps vary by location, with many facilities offering multiple camps throughout the summer months. Parents can also reach out to their local PGA Professional to express interest in creating a local camp.
