I recently sat down with Paulina to learn about her journey as an entrepreneur. In our conversation, it became clear that her passion for making connections is behind her success in ensuring Latina entrepreneurs show up with confidence, make the money they deserve, and lead with authenticity in a business landscape that desperately needs Latinas’ unique voices and experiences. Paulina’s vision for success is clearly grounded in her identity, in her roots, which sharpens her focus on her community and provides resilience in the face of challenges.

At what moment in your life did you realize entrepreneurship was your path?

I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age.   However, growing up in a Hispanic home, we were encouraged to seek the security of a job and career.  It wasn’t until my career took off that I realized that my passion was supporting small business owners and that empowering women could be transformed into a movement.  The turning point came when I recognized the lack of spaces designed specifically for women—especially Latinas and women of color—to connect, collaborate, and build businesses on their terms.  I knew then that I didn’t want to just participate in the business world—I wanted to create a platform that redefined it.

How does The Business of WE create opportunities for women entrepreneurs?

The Business of WE is more than just a networking platform—it’s a catalyst for transformation. We create opportunities by providing women with access to high-caliber mentorship, dynamic leadership training, and a powerful community where their voices are heard and valued. Through conferences, masterminds, and intimate gatherings, we equip women entrepreneurs with the tools to grow their businesses, cultivate meaningful relationships, and position themselves as industry leaders. Our approach is rooted in collective empowerment—when one woman rises, we all rise.

Can you share a time when you faced resistance or skepticism? How did you navigate the challenge?

Like many women entrepreneurs, I’ve faced skepticism—whether it was questioning my vision, my leadership, or the viability of a women-centric business community. One of the biggest challenges was securing support and sponsorships in the early days. There was doubt about whether women, particularly Latinas, would invest in themselves at the level necessary to build a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. I overcame this by staying committed to my mission and leading with results. By showcasing the tangible impact of The Business of WE—through success stories, measurable business growth, and a strong, engaged community—I turned skepticism into belief.

What cultural values or traditions have helped you navigate business challenges and build resilience?

My culture has instilled in me the power of confidence, consistency, and community—the relentless drive to push forward despite obstacles. The deep commitment to uplift others has been my guiding force. Latinas are resilient by nature, and we carry the wisdom of generations of strong women who have built their lives through perseverance and adaptability. However, women must be READY to tap into their fullest potential, and committed to not just their growth but the growth of the women that follow.  This has given me the courage to embrace uncertainty and the confidence to create my own path.

How does your work make a positive impact on your community?

Community is at the heart of everything I do. The Business of WE fosters an inclusive, empowering space where women can build authentic relationships, access game-changing resources, and elevate each other’s success. The ripple effect is undeniable—when a woman transforms her beliefs and grows her business, she uplifts her family, her network, and ultimately, her entire community. Beyond business, we cultivate leadership and personal growth, ensuring that every woman who walks into our space leaves feeling seen, heard, and empowered.

You place great emphasis on investing in women: What can the entrepreneurial ecosystem do better to support Latinas? What do those investments look like?

The entrepreneurial ecosystem must move beyond conversation and into action when it come to supporting Latinas. Investment needs to be intentional—more access to capital, leadership positions, and decision-making seats. It starts by funding Latina-owned businesses at the same level as their counterparts, providing opportunities, and creating resources that address the unique challenges we face. It also means amplifying our voices and ensuring that Latinas are not just part of the conversation but leading it. When you invest in Latinas, you’re investing in the future of business, innovation, and community wealth.
