Phoenix is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Arizona, as well as the sixth most populated city in the United States. It is the anchor of the Phoenix metropolitan area (also known as the Valley of the Sun) and is the 12th largest metro area by population in the United States with about 4.4 million people in 2009. In addition, Phoenix is the county seat of Maricopa County, and is one of the largest cities in the United States by land area. Phoenix is the largest capital city in the United States and the only state capital with over 1,000,000 people.
San Antonio DMA
The San Antonio DMA is ranked 32nd in the United States and the second-largest city in Texas, with a population of 2.5 million. Located in the southcentral part of Texas, the DMA reaches as far west as the Rio Grande border with Mexico and is home to more than 1.3 million Hispanics. San Antonio has characteristics of other western urban centers in which there are sparsely populated areas and a low density rate outside of the city. It was the fourth-fastest growing large city in the nation from 2000 to 2010.
