An ambassador for young entrepreneurship

In June of this year, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) students from Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport high schools participated in the NFTE Countywide Business Plan competition.

A panel of five judges selected Ambar as the first place winner in the final round of the competition. Ambar received a $1,200 first place award for her achievement, money that she re-invested back into her business.

In October, Ambar traveled to California’s Silicon Valley to compete in the NFTE Youth Entrepreneurship National Challenge. Ambar was one of three finalists.

Last week, the three student finalists traveled to the White House to meet with President Obama. They spoke to the President about their business ideas and discussed entrepreneurship, gender equity and job creation.

Ambar’s advice for success and entrepreneurship comes from a plaque at Kolbe Cathedral High School that she and all students see everyday “Dreams don’t work unless you do.” Ambar firmly believes that “nothing is impossible, and never settle for mediocrity.”
