Puerto Rican Latina Helps Community With Addiction Issues

Meet Ingrid VanAlstyne, 2025 Hispanic Woman of Distinction, MBA, LMHC, MCAP, VP of Learning and Culture, Hanley Foundation 

“All Latinas have the power to rise, not only for themselves but to lift each other up, honoring the strength of our past and igniting the promise of our future.” 

Ingrid VanAlstyne was born and raised in the vibrant city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. She thinks of it as a place that has shaped her identity and grounded her in strong cultural roots which continues to influence her values, perspective, resilience and inspired her journey in life and her career.

Ingrid VanAlstyne addiction counselorShe received her Master’s in Mental Health Counsel from Palm Beach Atlantic University and her MBA from the University of Florida. She is a licensed clinician and is a master level certified addiction professional. Ingrid brings over 20 years in leadership and organizational development in the behavioral health field. Prior to joining the Hanley Foundation, she worked at the Jerome Golden Center for Behavioral Health, Inc., American Addiction Centers, Origins Behavioral Healthcare of Florida, LLC and several other behavioral health centers.

She is actively involved with Leadership Palm Beach and successfully completed the FOCUS 2025 program. She’s also a member of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and volunteers at her daughter’s school.

Ingrid’s has been happily married for 22 years. Her husband has stood by her throughout the years, and they’ve raised two daughters instilling the same core values they live by including faith in God, the importance of family, and the power of education.

Outside of work, she finds peace and happiness in simple moments such as beach days in the Keys and spending time outdoors gardening.
