Squirrely Communicators – The Sequel

by Lisa Kaslyn

The “CC” Communicator You know this gal, the one who copies everyone and their mother on even the most inane messages. What’s that all about? I mean, is it absolutely necessary to carbon copy co-workers, the boss and the boss’s boss on all the minutia of every task and issue you confront? No. It’s not. In fact, it is annoying to co-workers who may feel you’re taking too much credit or throwing them under the bus; it is annoying to your boss who just wants you to get your job done, get on with it and call if anything is stopping the former; it is not annoying to your boss’s boss because he filters out all emails that he’s cc’d on because he knows, 95% of the time, they’re not important. And, just in case you’re into hitting the “Reply All” on every email with a cc list, watch this video and hear some monumental faux pas involving that bad habit.
