Thinking About Shifting Your Career? It’s Never Too Late

.
3. Practice! Interview! Practice!
I always tell my older kids to practice their interview skills applying for jobs they may not necessarily be looking to get hired for. They look at me like I have two heads! It’s really very simple…the more you practice anything the better you become at it. You want to set yourself up to have several interviews under your belt before you go for “the big one”. Give yourself room for mess-ups by interviewing with companies that may not be necessarily on the top of your list but will give you a great opportunity to practice your questions, answers and how well prepared you are for interview. According to www.quintcareers.com educating yourself before the interview is key to how well you will perform.
Educate yourself about different industries and ask those working in the business questions about what they do. Interview others as if you were hiring them. Shop for your job or career just like you might when selecting a great pair of shoes. You want to make sure it not only looks good, but it should feel great too!
So whether you decide to return to a familiar career or start down a whole new path, make sure you create your laundry list, throw out the bad attitude and practice for the job you want as though you already have it!
