During the press conference, we had a chance to speak about sustainability and the impact that mass/fast fashion retailers have had on the market. She is on a whirlwind week presenting her collection here at NYFW and then racing out the door to head straight to the airport to Madrid for the presentatation of her couture collection this same week!

A chance to speak to the talented Agatha Ruiz de la Prada during the press conference and a few more of her fun whimsical designs—all finished off with heart topper headpieces.

The next collection was Spain’s, Francisco Sáez and his incredibly feminine and sexy designs. With gorgeous prints, over embroidered fabrics and a opulent palette of colors, these pieces are all out glamour.

Beautiful over embroidery on sheer netting

Beautiful over embroidery on sheer netting, long length kimono inspired wraps, maxi shirt dresses and retro jackets give more than just a touch of 40’s Hollywood glamour style to this collection.

The next collection was Venezuelan, Miriam Rodriguez. Personally, this collection left my jaw on the floor. Her aesthetic and impeccable style ranging from classical Grecian styled drapey gowns to modern edgy feminine jumpsuits with plunging necklines just took my breath away.

Mixing up looks, but making them all come together for her Spring/Summer collection

Mixing up looks, but making them all come together for her Spring/Summer collection. “Beautiful” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

There was no way I was letting this woman leave back to Venezuela without getting to talk to her about her designs.

I am so thrilled to have connected with her. She has been designing all her life and every piece she makes is the only one. I was the happiest fashionista you can imagine when I got to go behind the scenes and try on a Miriam Rodriguez original.

 Unassuming, adorable and talented

Unassuming, adorable and talented—how could I not hug this woman whom I had just met when I could see how much she loves what she does.
