Meet Danay Rodriguez-Arritola, 2025 Hispanic Woman of Distinction, DNP, Chief Nursing Officer, Larkin Community Hospital’s Palm Springs Campus

Born in Cuba, Danay Rodriguez-Arritola, DNP is a distinguished nurse leader and healthcare executive with over two decades of experience in the healthcare sector. She serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Larkin Community Hospital’s Palm Springs Campus where she helps shape patient care strategies and advancing nursing excellence.
Her leadership extends as president of the Miami chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses where she advocates for the professional growth of Hispanic nurses and the enhancement of healthcare quality for Hispanic communities.
Danay earned an Associate in Nursing degree from Miami Dade College and a Master’s in Business Administration and Doctorate (DNP) from Miami Regional University. Her academic pursuits underscore her dedication to lifelong learning and leadership in nursing.
Danay also is deeply involved in community service working with community partners organizing food and toy drives, health fairs that deliver free health screenings and preventive care workshops to underserved populations. Her efforts aim to reduce healthcare disparities and promote wellness among vulnerable communities.
Her professional excellence and community service has been recognized with a Hero Behind the Front Lines Award from the Medi Law Firm, the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience, the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Champion Community Engagement award and numerous other accolades.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Danay played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of frontline workers and the community. Her efforts earned her recognition as a Tenet Hero and induction into the Tenet Hall of Fame.
Danay has been happily married for more than 30 years to Daniel Arritola, a CT Technician. Together they have four children, Daniel, Alfredo, Rene and Stephanie, who are the pride of their lives.
